The Conveyer Type Needle Detector is a free standing conveyorized digital Needle Detector for garments. Accepts non-metals and all approved non-ferrous zips and poppers. It will reject and ferrous or nickle contamination, typically staples and needle fragments equivalent to a 1.0 mm ferrous sphere. The unit has a belt speed of approximately 25 to 30 meters per minute and an aperture size of 24" (700mm) width x 7" (175mm) height. Needle detection is an indispensable part to the garment industry. All finished garments should pass through the needle detector before they are placed in cartons and leave the factory. This is particularly important for such garments that are exported to the Japanese, European and American markets.
The detection is performed to identify whether there are any undesirable metallic substances and broken needles left-over or embedded in the garments and accessories in the manufacturing and sewing process, which may cause bodily injury to the consumers, especially children who are not able to protect themselves against the danger.

Let us first take a quick glance at the needle detection standard used in the garment industry.
Needle Detection Standard
The standard applicable is the NC-A level set by the Japan Textile Inspection Association, which applies to such NC-A products as hooks, buttons, fasteners, etc. that are installed through the sewing machines and that will respond at the steel ball converted value of Φ 0.8 or less.
The detection sensitivity is measured by the size/diameter of the steel ball. Articles larger than the standard value that is converted into the steel ball will be intercepted while items smaller than the standard value that is converted into the steel ball won’t be detected.
